Gli Svedesi, chiamati ad esprimere con un referendum la loro volontà di rinunciare alla propria moneta per assumere l’euro, hanno votato NO. Le percentuali, sia dei votanti sia dei favorevoli e contrari sono chiarissime: 56,1 % di “no”,  41,8 % per il “sì”, 2,1 % di schede bianche. L'affluenza e' stata dell'81,2 % e gli aventi diritto al voto erano 7,1 milioni di cittadini.

I primi commenti a questo NO appaiono, ad una analisi obiettiva, come una conferma di quanto già da molto tempo sappiamo. Da parte dei governanti, il capo del governo svedese Göran Persson e Romano Prodi, capo del governo europeo, sonoramente sconfitti nella accesissima battaglia che avevano ingaggiato per convincere gli Svedesi ad aderire alla moneta unica, non soltanto si mente spudoratamente pronosticando gravi difficoltà economiche per la Svezia che rinuncia ai “grandi vantaggi che l’euro ha portato” (sic!), ma non si esita a far intravedere le tendenze autoritarie e dittatoriali che sottendono al governo dell’Unione, dichiarando che la Svezia vi avrà minor potere.

Si rimane, poi, davvero interdetti di fronte alla dichiarazione del primo ministro svedese:”Il Governo rispetterà i risultati del voto”. Questo significa forse che avrebbe potuto anche non farlo? Minaccia che già si era percepita (e l’avevamo sottolineato) nelle analoghe dichiarazioni fatte in Estonia dal Presidente del Parlamento Europeo.

Ma quello che più conta è la miseria intellettuale, spirituale (forse questo termine è stato abolito dai costruttori di Maastricht), politica di tutti questi commentatori quando affermano che ciò che ha spinto gli Svedesi verso il NO è stato il timore di dover rinunciare al loro welfare, molto più protettivo di quello medio europeo. Niente amore per la propria indipendenza, per la propria sovranità, niente amore per la Patria, per la libertà, dunque, nell’orizzonte dei miseri contabili che guidano l’Europa? Ebbene, rendiamo omaggio agli Svedesi, alla serietà con la quale hanno affrontato le giornate terribili dell’assassinio del Ministro degli Esteri, paladino del Sì e gli hanno attribuito la stessa onestà politica con la quale hanno votato NO. E’, infatti, questo il significato, e l’insegnamento, da trarre dal comportamento degli Svedesi: non si sono lasciati influenzare dall’uccisione di una persona amatissima come Anna Lindh, cosa che tanti avevano pronosticato (e sperato), perché se lei è stata uccisa per le proprie idee, nessuno deve fare a meno di testimoniare e affermare le proprie.

Grazie, dunque, agli Svedesi da parte di tutti coloro che amano l’indipendenza e la libertà.

E grazie da tutti gli Italiani. □

Svenskarna röstade Nej  i folkomröstningen. Procenttalen är solklara nej rösterna (56,1%) och ja rösterna (41,8%), 2.1 % röstade blankt. Antalet röstande var (81.2%) av 7,1 miljoner som kallats till urnorna.

De första kommentarerna till Sveriges Nej ser ut att bekräfta det vi sedan långe redan känner till. Nämligen regeringschefernas lögnaktiga sätt, den svenska statsministern, Göran Persson och ordförande i europaunionen, Romano Prodi, båda högljutt besegrade i den heta debatt som de upptrissat för att övertyga svenskarna om att gå med i valutaunionen. Utan minsta tvekan förutser de, allvarliga ekonomiska biverkningar för Sveriges del, som avstår från ”de stora fördelarna som euron fört med sig” sic! De tvekar inte att låta unionens auktoritära och diktatoriska tendenser lysa igenom, när de påstår att Sverige i och med detta får mindre makt.

Helt förbluffad känner man sig inför den svenske statsministerns uttalande att ”regeringen kommer att ta hänsyn till röstresultatet”. Betyder det möjligen att den hade kunnat låta bli? Ett hot som ordförande i EU redan uttalat (och som understrukits) under motsvarande folkomröstning i Estland.

Men det värsta är den intellektuella, spirituella (kanske denna term avskaffats av Maastrichtkonstruktörerna) och politiska misären hos alla de som gjort sina kommentarer, framförallt när de påstår att vad som lett svenskarna till ett NEJ varit rädslan att behöva undvara Välfärden, som är mycket mer utvecklad än i de flesta andra europeiska stater. Har då dessa ynkliga ekonomiska ledare inte någon förståelse för andra värden? Värden som oberoende, suveränitet, fosterlandskärlek och frihet. Låt oss hedra svenskarna och den värdighet med vilken de genomgick de fasansfulla dagarna efter mordet på utrikesministern, en förkämpe för Ja-sidan. Med samma politisk rättframhet som de respekterade henne röstade de NEJ. Det är det som bör begrundas och som vi kan lära oss av svenskarna. De lät sig inte påverkas av mordet på en högt älskad person som Anna Lindh. Något som gallupundersökningarna hade förutsett (och önskat), för om hon mördades för sina idéer, ska ingen annan avhålla sig från att betyga sina egna och hävda dem.

Swedish Say
No To the Euro

The Swedish people, called to express through a referendum their will to abandon their currency in favour of  the euro, have voted NO. Both percentage of voters and of voters in favour and against are evident: 56,1% “no”, 41,8% “yes”, 2,1% of blank votes. Participation was 81,2% and people with the right to vote were 7,1 millions.

First comments to this NO appear, at first objective analysis, like a confirmation of what we have known for a long time. The statesmen, Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson and European Commission President Romano Prodi, were soundly defeated in the passionate battle they had started to convince the Swedish people adopt the common currency. Moreover, they are not only lying shamelessly when they foresee serious economical difficulties for Sweden, that is refusing the “great advantages that the euro brings” (sic!), but they are even revealing, without any hesitation,  the authoritarian and dictatorial tendencies underlying the government of the Union, when they declare that Sweden will have less power in Europe.

We are then really taken aback by the declaration of the Swedish prime minister: “The government will respect the results of the vote”. Does this mean that he could have not done it? We had already perceived this threat (and we remarked it) in similar declarations made in Estonia by the President of the European Parliament..

What matters the most is the intellectual, spiritual (though this term was maybe abolished by the creators of Maastricht),  political misery of all these commentators when they affirm that what induced the Swedish to vote NO was the fear of losing their welfare, much more protective than the European standard.

No love for their own independence, for their own sovereignty, no love for their country, for freedom, then, in the horizon of the miserable accountants that lead Europe? Well, let’s honour the Swedish People, for their sense of responsibility in  coping with the terrible days of the assassination of their Minister for Foreign Affairs, supporter of the YES, and in attributing to the event the same political honesty with which they voted NO.

This is, indeed, the meaning, and the lesson, of the Swedish behaviour: they were not influenced by the killing of such a beloved person as Anna Lindh, unlike many had forecast (and hoped), because though she was murdered for her ideas, nobody can avoid to affirm and be testimony of his own ideas.

So, thanks to the Swedish people on behalf of all the people who love independence and freedom.
