Italiani Liberi
- Free Italy -
A Political and Cultural Movement
In Italy today every field of human activity is invaded
and overwhelmed by what would seem to be a generic "collective
conscience". This however is actually imposed on us by government
dictates in the areas of education, work, social security, health, foreign
policy, biotech.
In the knowledge that every nation has its own
cultural identity; that the identity and independence of a people can not
be disjoined from their sovereignty over a certain territory; that the
defense of this identity, and the preservation of their independence, can
be one of the best guarantees that the identity and the independence of
other peoples will in turn be respected, without having recourse to
international powers,
Free Italy aims at re-establishing, defending and
strengthening the civic, ethical and cultural identity of the Italian
people by recuperating their extraordinary intellectual, scientific,
artistic, musical and political history.
To this purpose, Free Italy asks Parliament to
amend the Constitution with a view to giving the utmost priority to
personal freedom, within the precincts of each individual's intellectual
and ethical conscience, not just on a theoretical but also on a concrete
level. The Movement also asks Parliament to restore Italian sovereignty,
which has been surrendered to the will of the European Union.
While working to achieve this end, Free Italy aims at
obtaining a stay in the adoption of the euro and the ratification of the
Treaty of Nice; and a suspension of the treaties of Maastricht, Amsterdam
and Schengen, along the example of the Swedes, the Danes, the Austrians
and the Germans.
To achieve the above-said purposes, Free Italy will act
in the arena of political competition, on the strength of its positions
and, if appropriate, it will seek the cooperation of other national
movements, whether European or non-European, that share its ideals.
